An opportunity has arisen within the Council’s Adults Health & Social Care Division’s MERRIT (Midlothian Emergency Rapid Response Intervention Team) – Team Leader. The successful applicant will be expected to function as part of an integrated team approach. You will strive to deliver satisfactory service outcomes to an identified client group, according to Council / NHS policy, professional standards, and best practice, utilising allocated budget, staff, partner organisations and other resources. You must be committed to contributing to the development and implementation of service delivery across Midlothian / NHS, with a primary focus on the development of effective and safe practice and service user outcomes. A professional qualification in Social Work, Nursing or related discipline as recognised by the Scottish Social Services Council is essential as is a post-graduate qualification in management to HNC level or equivalent, or a commitment by the applicant to undertake training to the required level within an agreed timescale. This training will be supported by Midlothian Council. Experience of managing a team delivering a Social Work service to identified client groups is desirable as is a post-qualification award in one of the following: child protection, leadership & management, practice teaching, mental health, criminal justice, SVQ assessor. You should have excellent organisational skills and a working knowledge of IT. This position constitutes regulated work with protected adults and membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme is essential. The successful candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or to undergo a PVG Scheme Record update check prior to appointment. Based on you working 36 hours over 52 weeks per year the minimum actual salary for this position is £ £36,348.59 per annum.
