Job Description Cook In Charge, Aberfeldy (PKC05278) £21,079 – £23,707 Dalweem Residential Care Home, Aberfeldy PH15 2BH An exciting opportunity has arisen for the position of Cook In-Charge at Dalweem Residential Care Home. Dalweem is the home for 16 residents and you will have the opportunity to plan, coordinate and deliver nutritionally balanced meals to a great group of individuals. We would like you to apply if you have knowledge and creative ability to plan menus and provide nutritionally balanced meals using fresh and seasonal ingredients. Your menu planning will be in consultation with residents and their choices, likes and dislikes, allergies etc. We would like you to be very warm and approachable so you can communicate with residents regarding their dietary needs. It would aso be great if you have a good understanding of dietary requirements for a variety of complex needs. Having an understanding of the costing of meals and stock control is expected, as well as an understanding of the Food Safety Management System. It would be advantagious if you had good computer skills as you will need to use a computer for ordering purposes and auditing. But we can help with training on this if needed. As a person you would benefit the role if you have a healthy and positive attitude to teamwork and have strong leadership qualitites as you will be required to allocate and delegate tasks to other team members. Your flexibility will be required but appreciated to meet the needs of the role due to hours and location of work. As an employee of Perth & Kinross Council we need you to have knowledge and experience of managing a budget, stock control, and Food Safety management systems. You will also have good experience and high standards in terms of the use of kitchen equipment and the cleaning of equipment and the kitchen to the standards and requirements as set out by Environment Health Agencies and standards set. You will have a personable but professional approach to your communication as you will be required to undertake a supervisory role, experience in this area is prefered. Your ability to deal with conflict and resolve situations is essential. We will offer you training related to the role, however you will need to have or be willing to attain an Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate.
