Refuge Coordinator – Woking

Job Details You will earn £23,650 per annum for working 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday based at Your Sanctuary, 15a Monument Way East, Woking, Surrey GU21 5LY. Please note that the post is based at two women’s refuges located in North West Surrey; exact locations cannot be disclosed until offer stage. However, as an indication the refuges are within a 12 mile radius/30 minute drive of our offices in Woking. The salary is £23,650 per annum. This post is to cover a period of maternity leave and will therefore be offered on a fixed term basis. Any further details: Successful applicants will need a full driving licence and access to a reliable car for work purposes and be available to be on-call on a rota basis (shift allowance payable). About the Role Your Sanctuary is a Surrey based charity which provides specialist assistance to women, men and children affected by domestic abuse. If you have a passion for supporting and empowering women who have fled from domestic abuse, then we have a fantastic opportunity for you to get involved in the running of our refuge service. Using your strong administration and planning skills you will ensure that our two refuges provide an effective, efficient and consistent service to women and their children who need a safe place to stay, whilst also drawing on your knowledge and empathy to provide both practical and emotional support when acting as a key worker. There will be the opportunity to get involved in helping us to continuously improve and develop the services we provide. Being able to build strong relationships with colleagues, clients and local agencies is essential along with excellent organisational, communication and IT skills. Experience of working or volunteering in a similar environment is essential and you must be able to demonstrate the ability to coordinate resources and make sound decisions under pressure. The need for flexibility is key as no two days will ever be the same! This is a challenging role but one which is also very rewarding. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will work 36 hours over five days (Monday to Friday) with emergency on call shift rota and helpline responsibilities. We offer 25 days annual leave along with a contributory pension scheme and employee assistance programme.
